Goals

Liaise with prison personnel to ensure a smooth reception and transition for Aboriginal ex-offenders on their release.

Network with organizations which can assist released Aboriginal ex-offenders to obtain short term shelters, food, funds; also long term training initiatives and employment search assistance.

Assist and support current and ex-offenders on a healing journey as it relates to their respective Aboriginal culture value systems.

Develop, design and deliver programs for Aboriginal ex-offenders. Healing Circles & Traditional Ceremonies,, Addiction Assessments, Lifeskills, Anger Management Services, Housing support and Assistance, Information and Referral Services

Develop programs for incarcerated Aboriginal offenders focusing on Aboriginal beliefs, customs, and values in addition to pre-release preparations.

For the 2008-2009 fiscal years the focus will be in delivery of relapse prevention, anger management, practical living/survival skills, outreach services and a variety of referral mechanisms.
