Home Spirit of the People provides on-going Native Liasion services to all three Toronto Area Detention Centres (Toronto East, Toronto West, and the Toronto Jails). Our services involves weekly one-on-one counselling, referrral, discharge planning, and group sessions. In addition, we provide access to Elders, Ceremonies, and Traditional Celebrations to a large number of Aboriginal Clients in local institutions. Spirit of the People recognizes the inherent value, dignity and potential contribution of current and former Aboriginal offenders. We assist and support current and former Aboriginal offenders to break the cycle of criminal activity and incarceration. Here at Spirit of the People, opportunities are presented to Aboriginal ex-offenders to reintegrate into society in a healthy, meaningful, and purposeful way within the community.         Registered Charitable Number: 89356-5762-RR001
